"Self Reflection"

            As leaders, we must seek to learn continuously and as learners, we have a responsibility to teach and lead others.  I consider myself an eternal learner.  From a very young age, I wanted to learn and teach others.  I held "school" for my brother and sisters even when they weren't all old enough to attend.  This desire is one of the factors that lead me to continue my education at the University of Charleston's Doctor of Executive Leadership (DEL) program. 

            My journey in the DEL program has been an enjoyable experience with highly intelligent and insightful faculty and amazing peers who are practitioner experts from many industries and across the nation.  My desire is that this professional portfolio provides serves as a window into my experience, and growth and development, as I've journeyed deep into this path of leadership over the past couple of years.  I'm hopeful that you are able to 'see' my transformation into a scholar-practitioner.  Self-reflection, perspective, and transparency are portrayed in the slideshow above. 

           The progression from a practitioner to scholar-practitioner is rooted in the leader's ability to self-reflect, be open to new perspectives, and be transparent in thought, words, and action.   This portfolio includes my personal profile which describes me, my education, and experience.  It also includes my personal leadership model and code of conduct which exemplify how I believe a leader should conduct oneself.  The executive projects section represents applications of the DEL outcomes, demonstrating my understanding of their intent and ability to apply them in a practitioner environment.   The professional growth section includes my GROW model, Professional Essay, Dissertation Prospectus, 360 EQi evaluation as well as reflections for each year of the program. The DEL Outcome section is purely for reference and details the DEL program outcomes.
